The original Lady Jane was the first women’s boutique on Carnaby Street and was opened in April 1966 by Henry Moss and Harry Fox, Lady Jane was revolutionary because Carnaby Street had previously been dominated by menswear. It carved out a space for women’s fashion in this trendsetting area, becoming a counterpart to the famous Lord John menswear chain.
Moss and Fox eventually went their separate ways (Fox continued with Lady Jane and opened other Carnaby Street shops like “Lady Jane Again” and “Sir Harry,” while Moss went on to open “Pussy Galore”
