This authentic 1980s color photograph captures the West Detroiter bar, located in the 2500-block of Woodward Avenue in Detroit, Michigan, in 1980. The building features a distinctive turquoise exterior with a large red and white sign and a small neon “BAR” light in the window. To the right of the bar stands the 10-story Hoffman Building at 2539 Woodward, situated on the corner of Sibley Street. On the sidewalk, two men in white shirts stand near a parking meter, while a red sedan and a city bus are visible on the brick-lined street. This entire block was demolished in the 1980s, and the site is now occupied by the Little Caesars Arena complex. This high-resolution scan provides a rare look at the lost commercial landscape of the Woodward corridor during the early eighties. All our images are available as royalty-free instant downloads for use in books, media, and creative projects – or make your own prints for home, work, or as a truly unique gift.
