This 1982 photograph shows an early Triking three-wheeler parked in a town-centre setting, its exposed V-twin engine, cycle-type front wings and wire wheels giving it the look of a much earlier machine. This would have been one of the earliest Trikings, the Norfolk-built three-wheelers developed by Tony Divey in the late 1970s as a modern interpretation of the pre-war Morgan-style cyclecar, typically using a Moto Guzzi V-twin engine. By 1982 they were still a rare and highly individual sight, making this a particularly interesting early view of a model that later gained a loyal following among British specialist-car enthusiasts. The contrast between the minimalist, vintage-inspired machine and the everyday early-1980s saloons behind it only adds to the appeal.
