Tenby Harbour in 1977, seen at low tide with dozens of small boats resting on the sand below the stone harbour walls while people stroll along the pier and across the beach. The view is packed with useful detail, including the working crane on the harbour arm, the harbour-side buildings at right, a red van at the lower left edge, and the mixture of cabin cruisers, sailing boats and small fishing craft gathered in the sheltered basin. Beyond the harbour wall are the wooded cliffs and broad sandy beach on the far side of the bay, giving the scene the combination of seaside resort and working waterfront for which Tenby was long known. It is a very characteristic 1970s Pembrokeshire harbour view, with the tide out, boats grounded and holidaymakers moving through the foreground.
