This authentic 1950s colour photograph captures the historic St Mary-le-Bow church on Cheapside, London, in 1953, showing the significant damage sustained during the Blitz. The image prominently features the famous steeple, designed by Sir Christopher Wren and completed in 1680, which survived the bombing although the main body of the church was gutted.
