This 1972 view at Silver Sands Holiday Camp, Hayling Island, shows a row of compact chalet-style holiday units facing onto an open grassed area, with deckchairs, children and holidaymakers spread across the lawn in front. The main block has white-painted walls, green doors and window surrounds, while to the right stands a smaller timber chalet painted pale yellow, adding a useful contrast in accommodation style. A larger two-storey block with external stairs can be seen at the far right, helping to show the mixed layout of the site. More than a staged entertainment scene, this is a straightforward everyday view of camp life, with people sitting outside their units, sunbathing on the grass and enjoying the open communal space. Silver Sands stood on Rails Lane in Eastoke and closed in 1988, with part of the site now redeveloped as housing known as Silversands Gardens.
