Smaller lettering about the tarpaulin can also be seen on the right-hand side, adding to the very practical, everyday feel of the image. It is the sort of ordinary goods-yard detail rarely photographed so closely, capturing the markings, equipment and handling instructions of traditional rail freight in the early 1960s.
