Pontins Dolphin Holiday Camp, Brixham, in 1965, showing the outdoor heated swimming pool set below a grassy slope lined with the camp’s chalet accommodation. The chalets are arranged in neat rows across the hillside, each raised slightly above the ground with small steps and broad front windows, while the poolside scene includes benches, ladders and part of the diving structure at the right. A small group of holidaymakers is gathered beside the water, and the whole view gives a good sense of the camp’s unusually scenic setting above the South Devon coast. Pontins Dolphin was a clifftop camp with more than 300 chalets, mixing older units with newer brick-built accommodation, but the site was badly damaged by fire in 1991, later cleared, and has since been replaced by housing.
