In 1960 the building behind the famous Coke and Guinness adverts was demolished to make way for a new skyscraper. The retaining wall holding up the adverts was left in situ.

In 1977 this wall was tore down, as seen here. The skyscraper idea had been abandoned and a new building was constructed and a new Coke advert was put back up. This new building also featured a Wimpy restaurant and Boots Chemist which both opened around 1980.  The Wimpy became a Burger King in 1989. Boots is still there.
