The Boots Chemist seen here was open 24 hours and around midnight long lines would form with addicts collecting their dated prescriptions. It was not uncommon for the police to be called to deal with disturbances. When the new Boots opened across the street (around 1980) it closed at 8pm.

The Cockney Pride Tavern had a Jermyn Street address, that’s at the rear end of what you see here.
