Behind the bus can be seen Piccadilly Mansions which contained Saqui & Lawrence jewelers (on the left) and a 200-seat news theatre on the right. The jewelers later became H Samuel. By the 1950s the news theatre had become a cartoon theatre with a somewhat infamous reputation for rent boys. By the 1970s the theatre had been converted to soft porn but it closed in 1985 and the space was used to expand H Samuel.
