Designed to feel like a traditional New England town center, the pavilion was arranged around a village green and built from a cluster of hexagonal structures rather than one single building. Inside were exhibits representing the individual New England states, along with a country store and a popular restaurant serving regional specialties.
Throughout the fair’s two seasons, the pavilion hosted lively demonstrations and performances — from folk music and square dancing to scallop-opening contests and craft displays. Visitors could watch artisans at work, sample familiar New England flavors, and experience the region’s culture in a format meant to feel welcoming and distinctly American.
