The NCR Pavilion highlighted the rapidly changing world of business technology at a time when most people still associated accounting with ledgers, pencils, and mechanical registers. Inside, visitors encountered early computer systems, electronic data processing equipment, business machines, and working demonstrations of what was then cutting-edge automation. A popular feature was the enormous children’s abacus — a playful reminder of how far calculating tools had evolved.
The pavilion also included a small theater showing films about the future of communication and computing, along with hands-on exhibits where fairgoers could interact with early electronic devices. NCR used the fair to demonstrate how businesses of the future would rely on computers not just for bookkeeping, but for banking, communication, inventory control, and information storage.
