In the foreground, clipped hedges and a promenade bench line the walkway, giving the scene a calm, ordered feel typical of south-coast resorts in the late 1950s.
Both buildings remain prominent features of Marine Parade today, continuing Worthing’s tradition as a genteel seaside town shaped by tourism and hospitality.
