Holimarine Holiday Centre at Hopton in 1979, showing the camp’s Supermarket set among the rebuilt accommodation blocks introduced after Holimarine took over the former Constitutional Holiday Camp in 1973. The frontage carries a prominent “Holimarine SUPERMARKET” sign, with a small Walls ice cream sign by the entrance, while parked cars, a delivery vehicle and holidaymakers around the forecourt add useful everyday detail to the scene. Architecturally, the view reflects the modernisation of the site during the 1970s, when the earlier holiday camp was extensively redeveloped and its older chalets were replaced by a mixture of newer apartments and caravans. Following Holimarine’s collapse in 1995 the park passed to Bourne Leisure, was rebranded as a Haven park, and the chalet blocks seen here have since disappeared as the site became mostly an all-caravan holiday park.
