Holimarine at Burnham-on-Sea in 1978, showing one of the camp’s broad grassy open spaces with low modern accommodation and amenity blocks spread across the site. In the foreground is a small parking area with a Hillman Hunter nearest the camera, while beyond are more parked cars, flat-roofed buildings with long bands of windows, and the simple geometric planning typical of later holiday camps. The image has a quieter, more everyday feel than the brightly staged pool and entertainment scenes seen at some larger camps, capturing instead the practical layout of roads, lawns and chalet-style buildings that shaped the holiday environment here in the late 1970s. Holimarine opened in 1963 and the site later became a Haven caravan park known as Burnham-on-Sea Holiday Village.
