This 1970 view shows Gorin’s Sports Car Center at 6 Hartford Turnpike in Vernon, Connecticut, a British-car dealership carrying MG and Austin signage across the front. Parked outside are several period British cars, including MGB roadsters in the foreground, Austin 1100/1300 saloons and larger Austin-Healey models, making the scene a strong record of the kind of specialist import showroom that helped sell British marques in the United States around 1970. The building itself still survives today as a car showroom, even though the original business does not. More than a straightforward dealership photograph, it captures a moment when MG, Austin and other British cars still had a distinct showroom presence in New England, displayed together behind the bold black frontage of a now-vanished local dealer.
