The Festival of Gas Pavilion showcased the role of natural gas in modern American life, with exhibits focused on both home use and large-scale industry. Inside, visitors could watch live cooking demonstrations, explore the latest gas-powered appliances, and view displays highlighting how natural gas was transforming factories, heating systems, and everyday domestic technology.
A short film presentation rounded out the experience, offering a polished promotional look at how gas pipelines, modern distribution networks, and expanding infrastructure were helping fuel postwar growth. Today, the site where the pavilion once stood has been transformed into part of the Flushing Meadows Pitch & Putt golf course, leaving no visible trace of the exhibit — just another example of how the immense World’s Fair footprint has slowly blended back into the park around it.
