The Wolseley 6/80 was produced from 1948 to 1954 and was known for its luxurious features for the time, including a plush interior with wood and leather, comprehensive instrumentation, and an efficient heating/demisting system. It featured independent front suspension with torsion bars, a smooth straight-six overhead camshaft engine, and a four-speed column shift.Â
A 1951 test by The Motor magazine recorded a top speed of 85.3 mph and a 0-60 mph time of 21.4 seconds. The Wolseley 6/80 was extensively used by the British police force during its era and was widely recognized as the “Cops’ Car”. It was succeeded by the Wolseley 6/90 in 1954.Â
