This 1980s view along Bruton Street captures a polished but still busy stretch of Mayfair, with a strong mix of older townhouses, smart shopfronts and later office blocks lining the street. On the left are the fronts of ASB Gallery, Occasions Wines and Maples, while scaffolding on the right hints at the continual rebuilding and refurbishment that shaped this part of central London. The traffic adds plenty of period character, including the red Aston Martin DB6 with registration UMD 7F, a blue Volvo 340, a black London taxi, a Sheraton Patisserie van and a scooter threading through the queue. The scene works well as a record of everyday Mayfair in the 1980s, where luxury, commerce and ordinary working traffic all shared the same narrow Georgian streets.
