A British Railways 12-ton fruit wagon seen in 1961, standing in a yard among other vans and goods stock with a man posed beside it for scale. The wagon is shown in useful detail, with its planked body, ventilated end louvres, diagonal bracing, sliding side door and the word “FRUIT” still visible on the body side, along with markings including E 285093 and XP. In the foreground are stacks of track panels and point components, adding to the rough, workaday railway setting.
