The monorail ran in a 4000ft loop around the outside of the amusement park and was built by American Machine and Foundry (AMF) who were better known for their bowling machinery. Built to a French design this was the only monorail they ever constructed. It only had one station and didn’t serve any transport function. For the 1965 season the Aston Martin DB5 from ‘Goldfinger’ was placed on display by the monorail station
Note the distinctive multicolored street lights which could be found all over the fair. They were all to the same basic design but varied quite a bit in their layout, shape and colors. Some went to the Orange County Fairgrounds in NY and are still there today
