This 1960s Manchester street view shows a bright yellow A.A. Booth & Co service van lettered for Booth’s Tyre Service. The side panel carries a large circular Booth’s Tyre Service roundel and the wording “A.A. BOOTH & CO. Associated Tyre Specialists (N.W.) Ltd”, while the cab door gives the firm’s address as Liverpool Road, Manchester 8. At the rear can be seen the fleet number “BLA 7039”, with “Phone BLA 7039” painted above, and a second Booth’s Tyre Service roundel on the back doors. The rounded nose, compact forward-control body and sliding side door strongly suggest a Morris J-type or closely related Morris JB van, a model widely used for British delivery and service work in the 1950s and early 1960s. The plain brick industrial backdrop suits the commercial setting well, making this a particularly useful study of period business signage and everyday working transport.
