This authentic 1980s colour photograph, captured in 1985, features a side-on view of the SR.N4 Mountbatten-class hovercraft, “The Princess Margaret,” positioned on the concrete apron at the Dover hoverport in Kent. The archival image documents the massive craft with its skirts fully inflated, showcasing the impressive scale of this amphibious vehicle. The vessel is finished in the post-merger Hoverspeed livery, featuring a white upper body with bold red and blue horizontal stripes and “HOVERSPEED” branding above the passenger windows. The four large pylon-mounted propellers are visible along the top of the craft, designed to provide both thrust and directional control.
