This 1980s view shows The George on Windsor Road at Wraysbury, a traditional roadside pub carrying Courage branding and a “Pub and Bar” sign above the entrance. Parked across the forecourt is a pleasing line-up of period family cars, including a yellow first-generation Vauxhall Cavalier, a blue Opel Ascona (same as Cavalier Mk2), a red Volkswagen Passat estate and a beige Ford Capri 2.0 GL at the far right. The tiled roof, cream-painted walls, timber shutters and neat pub frontage give the scene a solid village-edge feel, while the parked cars root it firmly in the everyday motoring landscape of the early to mid-1980s. More than a simple pub photograph, it is a strong record of an ordinary British roadside scene in which the building, branding and cars all work together to date the image so clearly.
