This authentic 1950s colour photograph captures a lively daytime scene at Piccadilly Circus, focused on the famous Monico building and the ground floor of Piccadilly Mansions. The storefront of Saqui & Lawrence jewellers is clearly visible on the left, which later became H Samuel. Adjacent to the jewellers is the entrance to the 200-seat Eros News Theatre, displaying a bright marquee for “All Cartoon Comedy Week.” Above the shops, the facade is tiered with legendary neon advertisements for Bovril, Schweppes Tonic Water, and a large Wrigley’s Chewing Gum sign featuring Jeypine disinfectant. This archival print is a superb resource for editorial publishing, historical research, or to print for ytury London life, including classic black cars aourself as a unique piece of vintage London décor.
