This authentic 1960s colour photograph captures the historic RRS Discovery moored along the Victoria Embankment in 1968. Famous as the ship that carried Robert Falcon Scott and Ernest Shackleton on their first successful journey to the Antarctic in 1901, the vessel served as a floating base for the Sea Scouts during its long stay in London.
