The broad roadway carries a familiar late-1970s mix of traffic including black cabs, small saloons, a green delivery lorry and a red double-decker bus in the distance, while a yellow van intrudes at the right edge of the frame. It is a spacious and atmospheric West End view from a time when Piccadilly still felt markedly wider, quieter and less managed than it does today.
