Around it are tightly packed pitches selling clothes, records and assorted market goods, with surrounding shopfronts including Derek’s Record, Cassette & Cartridge Centre and other small traders helping to root the scene in the rough-edged commercial streets of the East End. The dense footfall, improvised stall roofs and jumble of signage make this a vivid record of Petticoat Lane in the mid-1970s before later redevelopment changed much of the area.
