A busy west-end view along Edinburgh’s main shopping street, with the turreted Palace Hotel rising above a mix of older stone buildings and more modern post-war frontages. The pavement is busy with shoppers, while the road is filled with parked cars, buses and passing traffic beneath the changing architecture of Princes Street.
Visible details include a red double-decker bus carrying a General Accident Assurance advert with the slogan “Your business first”, an RAC sign above the pavement, and shopfronts for Lotus Shoes, Timpson Shoes and Wrygges farther along the street. Behind the bus is a 1955 Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn, PLH 776, adding an older luxury car to an otherwise very mid-1970s Edinburgh street scene.
