Brig o’ Doon House Hotel, Alloway 1973

Located in the picturesque village of Alloway, the Brig o’ Doon House Hotel is a romantic and historic retreat in the heart of Robert Burns country. Overlooking the famous Brig o’ Doon stone bridge—immortalised in Burns’s poem Tam o’ Shanter—the hotel offers stunning views of the River Doon and easy access to the nearby Burns Monument and Birthplace Museum.

Originally opened in the 19th century, the hotel has long been associated with weddings and special occasions. Following a major refurbishment in 2025, it now features elegant rooms including River Suites with private balconies, a honeymoon suite with a four-poster bed, and newly designed public spaces like the Garden Lounge Bar and outdoor terrace.

The hotel’s restaurant, Tales, pays tribute to Burns’s storytelling tradition with a menu of refined Scottish and French-inspired dishes, all served in a beautifully styled dining room overlooking the river.
