The ground floor of Piccadilly Mansions contained Saqui & Lawrence jewelers on the left and a 200-seat news theatre on the right. The jewelers later became H Samuel. By the 1950s the theatre was showing cartoons and had gained an infamous reputation for rent boys. By the 1970s it had been converted to a soft porn theatre. This was closed in 1985 and the space was used to expand H Samuel.
