By 1978, the town had become famous for its bakeries, windmills, smørrebrød lunches, and Scandinavian gift shops. Here, Rasmussen’s stands as one of Solvang’s most recognisable early businesses—known for imported goods, Danish crafts, and souvenirs long before mass tourism took over Highway 101.

A horse-drawn trolley waits at the curb, offering a leisurely tour through streets lined with half-timbered buildings and steep cottage roofs.
